Humans have a lot in common. We all eat, sleep, use the toilet, and, as a rule, we all wake up after falling asleep. An alarm clock is a familiar device in the bedroom, and for many, this role is played by smartphones. Sometimes, a standard ringtone just can’t wake us up and something more serious is needed. That’s why I’ve compiled a list of the best (in my opinion) alarm clocks for Android.
When I set alarms in all applications, I thought that I would take screenshots of the pop-up windows that wake up, but alas, I couldn’t do it. For some reason, the moment the alarm goes off is not saved as a screenshot. Therefore, the selection of screenshots will only include the main screen, adding a new alarm and settings.
Sleep as Android
Sleep as Android is one of the most popular sleep tracking apps that studies your sleep and then tries to analyze how well you slept. Shows stages of deep and REM sleep. It requires that you sleep next to your phone. The app also has synchronization with Google Fit, Samsung S Health, Galaxy Gear, and Android Wear. And even recognizes whether you have apnea attacks (short-term cessation of breathing) during sleep.
Alarm Clock Xtreme
U Alarm Clock Xtreme There is a gentle wake-up function, which turns on soothing sounds 30 minutes before the main alarm. If you are in a deep sleep phase, these sounds will not wake you up. But when your sleep becomes shallow, waking up will be more pleasant. There is also a function for gradually increasing the volume.
You can also activate a wake-up check. Then, after a specified period of time (for example, 5 minutes), the application will ask you to confirm that you are not asleep. If you do not do this, you will have to solve the problems again. A certain amount of time is allocated for solving each problem (by default, 60 seconds). You specify the number of problems (from 1 to 10) and their difficulty (very easy: 6-2, easy: 15-8, average: 36-19, difficult: 112-62-27, very difficult: 9*31-264).
In the settings, you can set the alarm volume priority and choose (or not choose) how to snooze and turn off the alarm: the power button, shake the smartphone, press the volume button, or solve a puzzle. And another nice feature is the ability to specify which application should be automatically launched after the alarm is turned off.
I Can't Wake Up
I Can't Wake Up — This is the only app that scared me with the volume of its alarm. It is very loud! Don't even think about setting it for the morning without testing it first — you can get a heart attack. Especially with the setting of a math problem to confirm awakening. At the Medium level, it will be a problem like (12*12)+(16*18) and by default there are 4 problems of this level. So be sure to click on the "gear" and reduce it to 1. For starters — this will be quite enough. Just in case, it is better to keep a calculator under your pillow.
Reducing the volume using the smartphone's "swing" does not work! The volume does not decrease, not for a second. But there is a small life hack: so that the alarm melody that all the neighbors will hear does not "scream" - you can tap the screen while solving a problem. This will stop it roaring, but will not turn it off. For the latter, you need to solve all the problems. It is perfect for those who have problems waking up in the morning, for everyone else it is better to try other applications.
Alarmy
Creators Alarmy declare it the most annoying alarm clock in the world. There is an unusual reason for this. A registration point is set up in your home, and to turn off the alarm, you need to place your phone at this point. Otherwise, it will continue to ring. For some people, this is too much. The app also includes various tasks and puzzles that must be solved to turn off the alarm.
Early Bird
Early Bird — It has the basic features, such as an almost infinite number of alarms, different themes, several ways to turn off, weather, and more. The additional ways to turn off will definitely make you wake up. The app can change the alarm automatically every day. This is definitely one of its best features. The free version has ads, while the paid version does not. Otherwise, the versions work the same.
AMDroid
AMDroid – is a simple but effective app that lets you set an unlimited number of alarms. It has a countdown timer, a night light, repeating and one-time calls. The program even supports smartwatches on Android Wear OS and keeps sleep statistics.
There is a mode with various tasks to turn off, which wakes you up so that you do not fall asleep again. The free and paid versions are almost identical, except that the latter does not have ads.
Sleepy
Sleepy — is one of the relatively new apps in this category. The app not only wakes you up, but also tracks your sleep. Of course, this means sleeping with your phone in bed. Unusual features include a noise generator, weather updates, and a night mode. The sleep tracking process is a bit outdated, but for some, it will do.
