In search of a truly free logo maker, we tested two dozen online services. Most of them allow you to create a logo, but to download it, you need to pay from 300 to 3000 rubles. You will not find any of these in our review. Therefore, the list is small, but this is all that is on the Internet.
Shopify Hatchful
Shopify is one of the most popular e-commerce website builders. A Hatchful, its logo maker. It's based on machine learning: by answering four simple questions, you'll get over 150 logo templates based on your preferences. You can then choose the one that appeals to you the most and customize the colors, shape, and placement of elements.
Once you've finished setting up your logo, click the "Download" button and you'll immediately receive 16 PNG versions of the logo by email, including images optimized for Facebook, Instagram (banned in the Russian Federation; belongs to a corporation that is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation), Linkedin, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, and a website favicon. There will even be versions with a transparent background – a great option for both website and print use.
Hatchful is so good that it's hard to believe it's free. And while the templates aren't customizable (you can't, for example, create a new icon), the design looks pretty good right out of the gate.
UCraft
UCraft — is a website builder with templates, cloud hosting and much more. And as a bonus, the service developers offer a free logo generator. If you know what you want to get and do not expect the service to do all the work for you, it is worth trying. In fact, after the logo created here, you can pass it to a professional designer for more thorough processing.
The editor is very simple. You can select icons, add text, choose font and colors. The UCraft collection contains over 1 million icons that you can search. For example, if you have a smartphone repair company, you can find several dozen phone icons for every taste. Logos with a transparent background or high-resolution PNG files can be downloaded for free.
Namecheap
If you want to start brainstorming with a few simple ideas, try Namecheap. First, enter the company name, then answer a few questions. After a few seconds, the service will show several logo options.
It will combine fonts, color palettes, and icons that you previously selected as the most attractive. As you scroll down the page, the service will generate new options. If you like something, click on its image and adjust the color, text, or icon.
If you need to show the logo to business partners, the quick publishing function will help. You can download the entire package as a zip file. The text file in it will contain information about the fonts used and the icon designer, so that you can make additional changes yourself or use the services of a designer.
Canva
Canva offers paid and free templates for social networks, flyers, invitations, business cards and logos. With the help of an impressive library of templates, you can develop a huge number of interesting options.
Choose one of the templates, and then change the text, colors, fonts and other design elements. The finished logo can be downloaded in PNG, JPG or PDF format. But there is one drawback - logos on a transparent background are only available in the paid version of the service.
The only downside is that templates can be used by other users. So don't be surprised if you come across something very similar to your design somewhere on the web. However, with a little creative imagination, a typical solution can turn into a unique and inimitable logo.
SquareSpace Logo
Squarespace Logo — a logo creation service from the popular website builder Squarespace. However, you can start working with the service without a Squarespace account. Keep in mind that there are no templates, simple layouts, or ready-made color palettes.
Don't be intimidated by the prospect of starting from scratch - the tools are pretty simple. Just click on any text box or icon and select the design element you want. You can change the font and colors, and the size and location of objects are easy to change with your mouse pointer.
Low-resolution images are free to download, but high-resolution images cost $10. If you're already a Squarespace user, you don't have to pay anything.
